MRS. ASPEN MERCADO, 6TH GRADE

I have always had a love for education because it has been near and dear to my heart within my own family. I am the oldest of six siblings so being around children is something I enjoy. I attended CSU Channel Islands for my Bachelors Degree in 2016 and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in 2018. Upon graduating with my teaching credential I was offered a position at UPCS in Camarillo as an Intervention Specialist. I worked there for a year before becoming a CROC! I am honored to say that I have started my teaching career at Katherine Elementary with this being my second year here. Last year I taught 4th grade and this year I am teaching 6th grade. I am recently married to a wonderful man who works in law enforcement and welcomed a beautiful baby boy in August of 2020. Being a teacher means the world to me and always makes me feel so lucky that I am able to help my students grow as individuals.
