MRS. NICOLE CARTIER, INTERVENTION

I’ve worked with kids for as long as I can remember.  I started babysitting as early as I could and moved into camp counselor before going to college. My path led me to become a preschool teacher and I really enjoyed working with that age range. The school I worked at had a private kindergarten and I was asked to teach the class for the next school year. It was during that year of teaching kindergarten that I knew for sure that was what I was meant to be doing. I went back to school for my masters degree and teaching credentials while working at a different private school teaching first grade. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Simi Unified and found my home at Katherine. I was drawn to the sense of community created by parents, teachers, students and staff. When it came time to send my own children to school, there was no doubt Katherine was where they would attend, even though it wasn’t our home school. About four years ago I transitioned into teaching reading intervention and I absolutely love it.  It is an honor to work alongside the dedicated teachers and amazing students at Katherine Elementary.
