PRINCIPAL'S PEN

Dear Katherine Families,

It is with great excitement that I welcome all of you to Katherine Elementary! Katherine Elementary School is a neighborhood school that provides our students with the academic and emotional skills needed for a successful future. A strong partnership exists between staff and parents, exemplified by our active Parent Teacher Association, and the many volunteers who assist with a variety of school programs. We offer several programs that supplement and support the core instructional program. These include music, art, physical education, and social emotional learning. Access to devices allow students to familiarize themselves with a wide variety of software including the Google suite for collaboration and research projects. Our school-wide focus area is  Health Science and Medical Technology through which all students experience lessons relating to Health Science.

Our educational philosophy is based on the belief that all students can and are able to learn. Our staff is student-centered and they hold high expectations for all students, both academically and behaviorally. Our instructional components are based on strong leadership, adherence to well-defined essential standards, an emphasis on foundational skills, and providing a safe and orderly school environment. We continually seek ways in which to better serve our students and community. We are excited for you to be a part of our school and share your ideas and talents with us.
