MRS. MELISSA AVILA

I have been with the Simi Valley School District since 2017. I am so excited to share that this is my first year teaching at Katherine Elementary School!  My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that every student can learn and succeed. I view our classroom as a team of learners, who work together, support one another, and learn from each other. Every student brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives to our classroom community. My goal is to create an environment where every student feels comfortable being themselves , supported, and empowered to succeed.  In my free time I like to exercise, watch movies, and spend time with my family.
