MRS. HANNAH WITHERSPOON

Looking back, it is so surprising to me that I hadn't always wanted to be a teacher, as it is now one of my happiest places to be. I started school going another route, but quickly realized what my choice was missing: human connection. We learn so much from one another, especially when we enter a space with all different backgrounds, experiences, and lives. That's exactly what I see my classroom as -- a place to learn from each other and grow alongside one another. 

I ended up graduating from Washington State University in 2022 with a degree in Education, and then received my Masters of Education in Early Literacy in 2024 from Eastern Washington University. Since then, I have taught Preschoolers, Kindergarteners, and am now a teacher of TK'ers! I adore teaching the foundations (especially reading) to the little ones. 

I feel so lucky to be in my second year at Katherine Elementary. The administration, teachers, and supporting staff all contribute to creating the special, wonderful learning space that this school is.
